Few places can beat the sheer concentration of natural beauty found bordering the mile high plateau either side of the Colorado River. The deep red of the rock against the blue of the sky, the incongruous sight of water next to desert.

Route 66 & Grand Canyon
Leaving Las Vegas we are struck by the contrast of the bustling city to the stark desert around. Crossing the Hoover Dam we continue along Route 66 and overnight in the memorabilia filled town of Williams. Striking north we reach the south rim of the Grand Canyon where we have time to walk and explore.

Monument Valley
Entering Navajo Reservation Land we stop off to admire the classic panorama of Monument Valley, its eroded tabletop mountains silhouetted against the sky. The entire area is a giant showcase for the power and beauty of the forces of nature.

Bryce & Zion NP
Leaving Arizona, we cross the Colorado River into Utah. We pause on the way to admire the dramatic sandstone slots of Antelope Canyon near the impressive 125m high Glen Canyon Dam. It is difficult to prepare oneself for the psychedelic wind-eroded landforms of Bryce, and the contrast between this parched environment and the oasis of Zion NP - a huge gorge with cliffs thousands of feet high, framing the rock pools and waterfalls of the valley below.

Day 1 Join Las Vegas. 2 Drive via Route 66 to Williams. 3 Drive to Grand Canyon NP; optional walks and overflight 4 Drive via Monument Valley; optional jeep tour, to Kayenta. 5 Drive via Antelope Canyon and the Glen Canyon Dam to Bryce NP. 6 AM walks & drive via Zion NP to Springdale. 7 Visit Zion NP, drive to Las Vegas. 8 End Las Vegas.
